You are most likely to see the Northern Lights in Iceland during the winter, in clear weather conditions. The stunning Aurora Borealis often illuminate the Iceland’s sky in ribbons of green, blue and yellow, but although it is extremely likely in Iceland, there is no guarantee that they will appear during our Northern Lights holidays in Iceland. Iceland however is located in one of the most active locations of the Northern Lights, meaning that there is good chance of witnessing the phenomena during your break.

During one of the evenings of the holiday you will go on an unforgettable 4x4 Super Jeep safari, which will take you on off the track into the wilderness surrounding Reykjavik. The safari will be escorted by a guide who will drive you into the away from the city because artificial lights can impair the visibility of the Aurora Borealis. The rest of your evenings in Iceland can be spent enjoying Reykjavik’s lively nightlife, or enjoying a meal in one of the capital’s many excellent restaurants.

The Northern Lights holidays last for three nights but extra nights can be added for an additional cost. For more information on our holidays in Iceland, please call one of our experienced travel advisors on 0845 072 0090.
