Day 1 - Arrive in Bergen

You will board the ship in Bergen where your Aurora Borealis Cruise of Norway begins.

Day 2 - Sail to Ålesund

Sail to Ålesund

Today we arrive in Ålesund where you will have plenty of time to explore its striking Art Nouveau architecture which was built following the devastating fire in 1904 that ravaged most of the city. Continuing to Molde, we pass the picturesque Romsdal Alps that dominate the wintry skyline. With any luck, the Northern Lights will illuminate their snowy peaks in a colourful display. Heading towards Kristiansund, the Hustadvika coastline hugs the sides of the ship.

Day 3 - Trondheim to Rørvik

As the Aurora Borealis Cruise of Norway sails throughout the night, we reach medieval Trondheim, which was Norway’s first capital city. The peaceful harbour is a great place to enjoy a stroll and the famous Nidaros Cathedral that flaunts its Gothic-style architecture is also worth a visit. The Old Town Bridge and the Ringve Museum are interesting places to see on a sightseeing trip in Trondheim prior to the voyage to Rørvik.

Day 4 - Cross the Arctic Circle

Cross the Arctic Circle

Today is a momentous part of the Aurora Borealis Cruise of Norway as the ship crosses the Arctic Circle. Although the Arctic Circle is not visible, there is a globe on top of Vikingen Island which symbolises its existence. From this point, the landscape becomes increasingly spectacular with clusters of craggy islands and rock formations making up the vistas. The next part of the journey is one of the most beautiful as we cruise to the Lofoten Islands, one of Norway’s greatest jewels. After passing through the Raftsund Strait and the Trollfjord, we reach Svolvær.

Day 5 - Northern Lights Festival in Tromsø

This morning, breakfast can be enjoyed in Harstad. We then journey to Tromsø, reaching the city as the Northern Lights Festival is in full swing. The atmosphere is electric and a wide range of music is played throughout various locations around the city. The Northern Lights may decide to join in the celebrations and dance across the night sky. Disembark the ship and check into a hotel for the evening.

Day 6 - Extend your Stay in Tromsø
